The Summer School in Greenwich, London, is our annual event. Often it is the Exit Point as many schools are ending their school year but it is also a time for the launch of new ideas, courses, and membership support. At this year’s Summer School we introduced two new courses: How to Create an IPC Thinking School and Getting from Good to Great: applying Jim Collins’ Principles to Becoming an IPC Accredited School.
Summer School is the biggest gathering of IPC delegates and attracts a truly international network of teachers and leaders from a variety of school contexts. Our numbers have doubled since last year and we currently have over 25 countries represented.
Summers are sacrosanct for UK teachers but our teachers who attended (IPC Summer School) found it very beneficial; very important. It was a great boost to those who attended, sharing ideas with hundreds of teachers all talking enthusiastically about the IPC as well as the learning workshops. The enthusiasm of the seven teachers who had attended the Summer School was incredible and this really had an impact and rubbed off on the other staff. We hope to participate in Summer School again next year.
